      Located in Oakland County, Michigan

      Lake Oakland is 255 acres in Oakland County with many islands and bays for all kinds of boating, fishing, swimming, and other outdoor recreation. It is just about two miles from Waterford, Michigan.

      Emergency or medical care needs can be located at the Pontiac General Hospital about seven miles southeast, providing care for those in need. Just about six miles southwest is the Oakland County International Airport.

      Outdoor Recreation

      Four miles north of Lake Oakland, Sashabaw Plains Park features a playground, baseball field, horseshoes, four square and basketball courts, volleyball, picnic areas, and bathroom facilities. They provide many active, outdoor activities for all ages.

      Near the west of the lake is a boat launch for easy access to the lake. For those who have a passion for fishing, there is a wide variety to expect to catch, such as bass, bluegill, crappie, northern pike, perch, and sunfish.

      Located four miles south is the Waterford Wave Pool, where family and friends can spend their day in the wave pool that features palm trees and bubbler fountains near the shore. There are more than 30 different interactive activities with areas available with picnic tables, grills, concessions, lounge chairs, and more.

      Many local shops and restaurants can be found west of the lake, where family and friends can enjoy their time outside of the lake.

      Any golfer can find clubhouses to spend a day out on the beautiful courses at Pine Knob Golf Club, which features 27 holes to play through, with three different nine-hole courses. The Pro Shop is within the golf course, where golf equipment and apparel can be found.
