      The beautiful city of Petoskey is about 4,000 acres long with eight miles of Lake Michigan shoreline in northwest Lower Michigan. With many activities to do for friends and family of all ages, they offer shopping areas, restaurants, coffee shops, parks, water activities, and community events.

      For any emergency needs, the McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital is located at 416 Connable Ave near the Lake Michigan shoreline. Around the hospital, you can find urgent care centers, as well.

      The Harbor Springs Airport - MGN, located only 6.2 miles from Petoskey, can fit any travel needs, as well as the Pellston Regional Airport about 20 miles from the city with flights to and from Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

      Outdoor and Water Activities

      From mountain bike trails, ziplines, and hiking to fishing and boating, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy out in the sun. Petoskey provides several launches to Little Traverse Bay to cruise around in a boat or go fishing. Many fishermen can catch fish of several species including bass, trout, and salmon only in permitted areas.

      Petoskey State Park located about four miles northeast features a one-mile beautiful view of the sea on a sandy beach for swimming in the bay along Lake Michigan. There are two modern campgrounds and trails which have a metal detecting area. The state park provides a beach house with restrooms, food concessions, and rentals for bikes, stand-up paddle boards, and kayaks.

      Bayfront Park offers 7,800 feet of shoreline offering sports fields and a playground located near Petoskey City Marina with beautiful views of Little Traverse Bay, a waterfall area, a kid’s fishing pond along with other amenities. It can be easily accessed to and from downtown by a pedestrian tunnel.

      Bear River Valley Recreation area provides areas near the center of town to hike, cross country skiing, fish, rafting, and more. They feature a .25-mile whitewater boating area that was once to be multiple dams and various industries. There you can find a large grassy area for any type of gathering with shelters.

      Petoskey features Bay Harbor Golf located in the northwest part of Petoskey along the shoreline. Golfers can experience magnificent views of Lake Michigan on three different courses that can be combined into one seamless experience. These courses feature 27 diverse holes throughout three varied courses that can be played in 18-hole course routings.

      There are over 170 wonderful, unique shops and dining in downtown Petoskey in the Gaslight District. Throughout this area, there are great views of Little Traverse Bay while walking around with family and friends.
