The walking and birding trails offer an ecoregion with endemic and endangered species of plants and migratory birds. Pristine sandy beaches offer the best swimming locations. TRANSPORTATION to the island is done by ferry or plane with a private and public airport. There is a rural health center with emergency medical service, library, community center and historical museum. Summer offers music festivals, art shows, a garden walk, markets and the best small town 4th of July parade with fireworks. There is a public dock and marina in town and rentals for bikes and boats for water sports.
