      Located in Iron County, Michigan

      Located on the southern end of Michigan’s peninsula and just north of the Wisconsin border, Indian Lake is a quiet little spot that’s perfect if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This area is remote and has a quaint, small-town feel that you’re sure to love!

      The nearest hospital and urgent care clinic in this area is about 20 minutes away, in case you ever need it. The Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport is about 30 minutes away from Indian Lake.

      On the Water

      Indian Lake is of a smaller size and spans about 196 acres, and is 36 feet deep at its lowest point. This lake is completely private and has no public boat ramp. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has recently installed a brand new concrete boat ramp suited for small-medium-sized boats.

      This lake is known to have a nice variety of fish, including large and smallmouth bass, bluegill, northern pike, rock bass, walleye, and yellow perch. Wake or boat restrictions are unknown for this area.

      Explore Crystal Falls

      While this area is pretty remote, there are still some great eats within 15-25 minutes of the lake. Alpha Michigan Brewing Company, Young’s FireBrick Bar and Grille, and Tavern On Central are great local restaurants — perfect for an evening out.

      If you are an outdoor lover, there’s Whisker Lake Wilderness about 45 minutes south of the area. This beautiful nature preserve offers overnight camping, hiking trails, and lakes and forests to explore. Bewabic State park is only 15 minutes away and also has multiple camping sites, beautiful colors in the fall, as well as lakes, fishing, and boating for the summer.
