East Bay Lake is located on Michigan’s upper peninsula, along the border with Wisconsin in Gogebic County. The lake is secluded, but it does lie between the cities of Ironwood and Land o’ Lakes.
The closest airport is King’s Land O’ Lakes Airport (LNL) which is only 12.2 miles away. The closest hospital is Aspirus Eagle River Hospital which is 30 miles away.
East Bay Lake is roughly 256 acres, and it is part of a larger chain of lakes that include West Bay Lake, Indian Lake, Poor Lake, and Mamie Lake. This allows people living on East Bay Lake more room to do what they love, like boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking, and other water-based activities. Fishing fans on East Bay Lake can expect to catch fish like bluegill, largemouth bass, northern pike, and several others.
The city of Ironwood has many attractions that account for fans of outdoor adventures. Newcomers can take lovely walks in either Curry Park or Hiawatha Park. The latter is home to the largest Native American statue, which is 52 feet tall.
The town is also home to Mt. Zion Ski Hill, where you can ski, snowboard, or tube sled in the beautiful hills of Michigan. Another fun weekend trip would be up to the Gogebic Country Club, where you can sharpen your golf skills or relax with family.
After your adventures in Ironwood, you can go out for some grub at locations like the Uptown Cafe, Golden Dragon, and many more.
Land O’ Lakes is an oasis for lake and nature enthusiasts, boasting more than 100 sparkling lakes, including the Cisco Chain of Lakes, where East Bay Lake is located.
These 15 interconnected lakes are known for their superb fishing prospects. Most notable is Lac Vieux Desert, where an angler reeled in the world record for tiger musky!
Land O’ Lakes is also home to a 12-mile bike/pedestrian trail and the Sylvania Wilderness, a popular spot for primitive campers, birdwatchers, and mountain bikers. Guests can go to Pine Cone Cafe and TJ Grizzlies for quality eats. For quality brews, check out the local selection at Brew’s Pub Inc.
