The R. E. Olds Transportation Museum has a collection of cars and memorabilia as a tribute to the auto industry. The museum is courtesy of one of the city's most prominent citizens, Ransom Eli Olds. The very first Oldsmobile from 1897 is on display, along with other antique automobiles.

Michigan History Museum has three floors of state history eras depicting scenes from the earliest peoples to the late 20th century. Visitors of all ages can enjoy learning about Michigan’s past, and Sunday trips are free.

Potter Park Zoo spans 20 acres and is one of the oldest continuously-operated zoos in the state. It is home to 500 animals and 180 species and sits adjacent to Potter Park, an 80-acre oak forest.
