Mcguire Lake Number One is located in Northern Louisiana just north of Monroe. The lake is a quick drive from city conveniences like Monroe Regional Airport, St. Francis Medical Center, hotels, restaurants, and shops.

Getting Outdoors

Hidden among the forests bordering the Ouachita River, this lake is a secluded escape for Monroe's residents. The area is excellent for birdwatching, picnicking, or hiking.

Forsythe Park Boat Launch is a nearby access point on the Ouachita River. The ample stretch of water is well-known for fishing and boating opportunities.

Many people travel the river in kayaks and canoes for leisurely exploring or fishing. Anglers make the best catches of trout and smallmouth bass, but many other game fish populate the river.

Kiroli Park sits just west of the lake featuring over 150 acres of natural Louisiana beauty. Its hiking trails featuring bridges and boardwalks are its main attraction, but its dog park, large playground, and gardens are just as favorable.

Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo is a fantastic outing for the family, and you can expect sights of tigers, monkeys, kangaroos, zebras, flamingos, and other exotic animals.

The Duck Commander Warehouse owned by the well-known Robertson family of “Duck Dynasty” is also located in Monroe.
