Black Bayou Reservoir is a shallow 600-acre lake northwest of Shreveport, Louisiana. This reservoir is a part of the Cypress Black Bayou Recreation and Water Conservation District, a full-service recreation area with two lakes.

The lake is 21 minutes away from the University Health Hospital and 30 minutes from the Shreveport Regional Airport.

Black Bayou Reservoir offers water skiing, boating, swimming, and fishing. Boats can access the lake via a boat ramp with parking. Powerboats are also allowed.

Anglers here can expect to catch largemouth bass, crappie, and channel catfish. Black Bayou Reservoir is often overlooked for nearby lakes such as the Cypress Bayou Reservoir, Caddo Lake, and Cross Lake.

The Cypress Black Bayou Park and Recreation Area offer 73 sites for RVs and 15 tent sites, both offering access to water and electricity.

Black Bayou Reservoir is teeming with thriving wildlife such as birds, frogs, fish, owls, and alligators. Other than animals, the foliage helps to create beautiful views and shaded areas for visitors to enjoy. There is also a marina in the park that sells gas for motorized boats.
