Carter Lake is both a lake and township located in Pottawattamie County, Nebraska, which is less than a half-hour from Omaha and within two hours of both Des Moines and Lincoln.
The waterfront covers an area of 1,293 acres, contains a maximum and average depth of 11 and six feet respectively, and features six miles of shoreline.
The Carter Lake township is home to a very active boating community. All types of watercraft are permitted on this lake, including speedboats, pontoons, and fishing vessels.
This area is also a popular location for water sports like wakeboarding, inner tubing, waterskiing, and boat racing, to name a few.
While Carter Lake does allow boating on the waterfront, the water clarity is still quite high. The township stocks this lake with a variety of game fish annually.
Anglers of varying skill levels take to this lake in search of large- and smallmouth bass, bluegill, flathead catfish, and walleye.
Whether you are looking to purchase a family home, a waterfront vacation property, or a full-time retirement residence, Carter Lake is an excellent choice for lake real estate.
