    About Little Swan Lake
    Private Lake in Rural Illinois

Little Swan Lake is a private community settled in the rustic wilderness of western Illinois. Galesburg, home to Knox College, is just 25 miles north, providing typical city conveniences like restaurants, stores, and the Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

An hour's drive to Peoria will award you a more fabulous selection of city-like establishments, including Peoria National Airport.

    225 Acres of Sparkling Waters

It all started with a farmer that had a dream, Ralph Wilkins envisioned a lake development on his farm and made it happen. After the damming of Little Swan Creek in 1967, it became the beautiful 225-acre lake it is today with waters reaching depths of 36 feet.

    Perfect Place for Lake Activity

You can have a blast boating, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing, kayaking, or just relaxing on Little Swan Lake's waters. A fair amount of wind makes it accessible for sailing as well.

The lake is stocked often to maintain a healthy population of largemouth bass, crappie, walleye, catfish, and bluegill. Since Little Swan Lake is reserved for its property owners and guests, boaters and fishers alike are fond of the uncrowded, pleasant waters.

It is a place of year-round recreation, offering ice skating and ice fishing in the winter.

    Local Orchard and City Outings

Visit the local Camps Orchard to have a pick of fresh apples, while you are there try their sweet cider and pastries. In Peoria, there are attractions like Peoria Zoo, Luthy Botanical Garden, Wildlife Prairie Park, or Robinson Park.

    Property with Privacy

The peaceful, secluded environment of Little Swan Lake is perfect for a lake home or vacation rental.
