About Countryside Lake
A Few Miles From Lake Michigan

Located in Mundelein in Illinois, Countryside Lake is a human-made body of water that sits inside a private neighborhood. The 120-acre lake was created in 1926 after a dam was built to block the stream from Lake County. Countryside Lake is relatively shallow, with a maximum depth of only 10 feet.

Recreation on the Lake

Due to its shallow waters and smaller size, Countryside Lake only allows boats with 15 horsepower or less. This is to help keep the shoreline intact and preserve the beautiful waters of this residential lake.

Are you looking to spend the day on the beach? Countryside Lake has the perfect spot for you. There is a sandy beach located on the lake with a lifeguard to ensure residents’ safety. The beach even has a playground, horseshoes, and boat docks if you want to make a quick stop after a day on the water.

Due to its shallow waters, fishers can easily toss a line in from the shore. Anglers have reported catching largemouth bass, northern pike, and black crappie in Countryside Lake. Some other fish that you might spot are muskellunge, walleye, perch, bluegill, grass carp, sunfish, and catfish.
