Bantam Lake properties rarely come on the market, and ones on Deer Island are rarer still. Year-round ranch, with views of the water and numerous access points for swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking in summer; ice skating, fishing and ice-boating in winter. Bantam Lake is the largest natural lake in CT, and much of it is bordered by White Memorial and so is protected land, making this one of the few lakes with lots of natural waterfront, offering sanctuary to many species of birds, including eagles. Ample opportunities to take advantage of and enjoy the lake via: sailing club, which offers lessons; ski club; rowing club; ice-boating club. Yoga on paddle boards is available. White Memorial has miles and miles of trails to offer to the public. State boat launch is located at the access road to Deer Island. Deer Island Association maintains the private roads and passways.
