"Locust Grove" is a unique 274 acre timber and farmland tract fronting 2800' on the Diascund Creek Reservoir in eastern New Kent County. The property has long road frontage (approx. 6/10 mile) on both sides of N. Waterside Dr. (State Route 627), and extends from Timber Swamp on the east about 1 mile west to the Diascund Reservoir. The property consists of approx. 218 acres of woodland, 50 + acres of cultivated farmland, and about 6 acres in a Dominion Energy (VEPCO) 120' wide power line easement that crosses the land in a north/south direction. Gently rolling to steep sloping topo, w/ RPA's along Timber Swamp and Diascund Reservoir and in wet ravine bottoms. The property is zoned A-1, Agriculture and is not subject to AFD or Land Use tax program restrictions. The Diascund Creek Reservoir is about 1100 acres in water impoundment and is owned to the 30' contour line by The City of Newport News. Restrictions within the City buffer land along the water's edge include no building of permanent structures, no hunting on City land, electric boat motors only, and no swimming.
