Lake Mcqueeney is located 7 miles southeast of New Braunfels, Texas and 4 miles west of Seguin in west central Guadalupe. The lake is an hour drive from Austin, Texas and only a 40-minute drive from San Antonio.
Lake Mcqueeney is a 396-acre lake with 25 miles of shoreline connected to the Guadalupe river and is run by the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority.
Though it was originally created to provide hydroelectric power to the area, Lake Mcqueeney is now a popular destination for fishing and water skiing. The lake is even known to locals as the Water Ski Capital of Texas. A 104-Pound yellow catfish caught in the lake held the state record for 30 years!
Lake Mcqueeney holds many community-wide event including a fourth of July boat parade.
Additionally, lake associations host water skiing, jet skiing, and wakeboarding events regularly with the "Ski Bees" ski club providing shows during the summer.
