You are in for a ride with this 0.18 acres of fun in the northeastern part of Texas, Van Zandt County. The county is on Interstate Highway 20 fifty miles east of Dallas in the Claypan Area of northeastern Texas. It is named for Isaac Van Zandt, a member of the Congress of the Republic of Texas. It got its name when a larger county was split into three separate counties, and Van Zandt was someone left without any debt or obligations due to some administrative oversight. That was one reason it earned the moniker “Free State” which later became a popular thing in the mid-1800s.
