356-357 North Shore Road, A Love Story! I was built in 1915, on the North Shore of Cuba Lake on an expansive parcel expanding over 205 feet of lake frontage with the most breathtaking views of Cuba Lake you must see to believe and protected by a natural stone break wall. I was used as a seasonal home until 1981 when my current owners decided this will be there new home. This is where my love story begins. My owners were so determined to preservation and restoration; I once graced the cover of American Bungalow Magazine. Armed with previous history of the home, months of educated themselves on the Arts and Crafts Movement they began to equip me with all that would be necessary to be a year-round home, while embracing the Craftsman style. From the two-car detached garage with office/guest room, EV charger, and power doors; follow the winding garden paths filled with mature trees, perennials, rock borders, decks, dock, and stone steps to the charming lake side home sheathed in cedar, with cross gables, cobblestone piers and chimneys. Through the glass entry hall into the L-shaped living/dining area with soaring 10-foot ceilings, original oak flooring and chestnut moldings, and two cobblestone fireplaces outfitted with gas inserts, while a large bank of windows across the front, provides a close-up, always present, view of the lake. The custom-built kitchen was carefully designed to stay in harmony with the original home while providing optimal usage of space, upscale appliances, and a place for my owners to enjoy views of the lake and gardens. My primary bedroom offers an ensuite bath, exit to the side secluded patio, (were my owners like to enjoy morning coffee) and pathway to the boat house. My charm continues upstairs with two bedrooms, original wood floors, casings, and moldings, a full bath with original claw foot tub, and of course, period hardware carefully selected.
