Just a few miles off Route 4, Halfmoon Pond Road is ruggedly maintained and doubles as part of NH's network of snowmobile trails in the winter. It is accessible by car in warmer months, but not snowplowed in the winter. You can drive your car to the pond until the snow flies in the fall, and spring, after "mud month". Otherwise, it can be reached by snowmobile, ATV, cross-country skis, and on foot.
