Skegemog Lake is conveniently located in northern Michigan, just north of Grand Rapids and a short drive to the Butterfly House and Bug Zoo in Williamsburg.
Kalkaska County was created in 1840 and named Wabassee County until 1843. William Copeland was the first settler in 1855. Skegemog Lake is well over 2,000 acres of water and stretches into 3 different counties.
The lake is dotted with sunken logs and trees that give refuge to many fish species such as largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. With such great fish populations, fishermen come from far and wide to experience this beautiful lake.
In April, Kalkaska County hosts the annual National Trout Festival. The festival is host to many events like kids fishing contests, concerts, and a carnival.
Whether you are looking for a permanent home or a vacation home, Skegemog Lake is a wonderful place to enjoy time outdoors with your family or friends.
