If you are looking for a massive amount of shoreline, then bookmark this one for this Sunday after church. It also comes with a view that is facing the west and so you will enjoy sunsets over the Coosa River and Logan Martin Lake. The other side of the river (towards the west) is undeveloped and full of wildlife! Enjoy Egrets, Cranes and King Fishers in the air and diving for their next catch. While I was walking and Kayaking the shoreline here, I found where white-tail deer have been swimming the river to and fro from the Lock 3. Lock 3 is located just below Neely Henry Dam in Ragland. Just below lock 3 you can see the beautiful, hand cut stone columns of the railroad bridge that was built in the 1800's runs Westward over the Coosa River. Also, as part of the view -just to the left, down river and South of the railroad bridge is a part of both American and Creek Indian History! Can you imagine 5,000 Tennessee Volunteers led by Andrew Jackson in your view from The War of 1812?
