Tainter Lake is 1,605 acres with a maximum depth of 37 feet. The town of Tainter is fairly small and secluded, but just down the road is more fun and excitement. Just 15 minutes from Tainter Lake is the town of Menomonie, where there is a variety of things to do and see.

Lake Life

Tainter Lake welcomes boating, swimming, skiing, and tubing. The massive lake allows plenty of space for lounging on the lake all day. Tainter Lake follows the statewide boating ordinances of Wisconsin, which state that there is a no wake zone within 100 feet of any shoreline, swimmer, or boat. Tainter Lake also has an ordinance that states there is a no wake zone within the marked buoy area between the dates of May 1st and September 15th.

Fishing is popular on Tainter Lake in both the cold seasons and the warmer seasons. Common fish include walleye, panfish, bass, and northern pike.

What To Do

Camping is a very popular activity amongst Tainter Lake Residents. Twin Springs Resort Campground is 13 minutes from Tainter Lake and offers plenty of space for tents and RVs. The campground also has cabins that visitors can rent out per night, with a large public restroom for all the campers. There is a beautiful hike down to the lake, but if you want a different type of water for one day, they also have their own pool on the campground.

After a long day at the lake, food is the first thing on everyone's mind. Menomonie Family Restaurant is a mix of 5-star decoration and service with the old-school style of diner food. Only 13 minutes from Tainter Lake, the restaurant allows you to hop off the boat, grab a good burger and be back out in the sun in no time. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you never have to worry about missing a meal.

Hospital and Airport

HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital is 35 minutes from Tainter Lake and is open 24 hours a day. Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport is an hour and 15 minutes from Tainter Lake and offers domestic and international flights.
