On and Around the Water

Canaan Street Lake spans around 300 acres, leaving plenty of room for residents to explore and relax.

Popular activities are boating, fishing, swimming, various water sports, skating, ice fishing, skiing, and snowmobiling. The area has a public beach and boat ramp for easy access.

The lake also serves as a water source to the Village of Canaan. The reservoir for the town water supply is at the southeast end of the lake, so no boating, swimming, or wading is allowed in this portion. In the summer, the area is marked by buoys, and permanent signs are posted.
