In 1989 a couple built their 1 bedroom log cabin on this very pretty piece of land in the Paynes Creek area of Hartwell as their weekend getaway. A pond, shared with the adjacent land owner, was added in the back of the home. The home was expanded in 1998 with a two-story annex featuring a very large living room with vaulted ceiling, hardwood floors, stone fireplace, loft, master bedroom with walk-in closet and master bath. The two wings are connected by a glassed-in breezeway and have front porches and decks overlooking the pond, which is shared with the adjacent property. The lot slopes down to Lake Hartwell frontage for fishing and boating; near the water is a small single-wide used by weekend guests.
