Wood Lake - Wood River

Wood Lake is 521 acres of beautiful waters with a maximum depth of 35 feet. The town of Wood River is fairly secluded, but the next town over has lots to keep you busy. The town of Grantsburg is just 10 minutes from Wood Lake and offers so much to see and eat.

Lake Life

Wood Lake is perfect for boating, swimming, skiing, and tubing. The massive lake leaves the fun open to your heart's desire. The lake follows the statewide Wisconsin ordinances, which include a no-wake zone within 100 feet of any shoreline, swimmer, or other watercraft.

Fishing is a common activity in winter and summer times at Wood Lake. Common fish include panfish, northern pike, and bass. Bass fishing is allowed on a catch-and-release basis.

Camping is a big activity for those that want to get out of the house and into nature for the weekend or even just one night. James Mc Nally Campground is 13 minutes from Wood Lake and offers direct access to the waters. Plenty of space for tents and RV’s to make a night under the stars as comfortable as possible. The campground includes a modern bathhouse with 38 water and sewer hookups.

A great home has to have great food; whether you are the type to cook at home or go out, there are plenty of options. Grantsburg Family Foods is only 12 minutes from Wood Lake, so do not stress about that last-minute dinner idea. But if you prefer to go out and eat, there are over ten restaurants within 15 minutes of Wood Lake. Drive-In Restaurant - Grantsburg brings the 50s to the modern-day era. Every piece of this restaurant down the uniforms is pulled straight out of an old-school diner. The food from your mom’s kitchen is also there, and residents cannot stop coming back for more.

Burnett Medical Center is 12 minutes from Wood Lake and is open 24 hours a day. Rice Lake Regional Airport is an hour and 15 minutes from Wood Lake and offers regional and local flights.
