About Mineral Lake

Home on the Range

Mineral Lake is located south of Mt. Rainier and north of Mt. St. Helens. The Mineral Lake area features convenient access to Highway 7 and is within 13 miles from the Arbor Health Morton Hospital. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is 66.4 miles away for easy travel.

Mineral Lake is a little over an hour and a half from Seattle. The city is known for the towering Space Needle, the marvelous architecture of its Central Public Library, and the diversity of Pike Place Market. Other notable attractions include the Museum of Flight, the Woodland Park Zoo, and the Chihuly Garden and Glass.

“Home of the Ten-Pound Trout”

True to its nickname, Mineral Lake is stocked with thousands of rainbow trout, brown trout, and rainbow fry. The lake also hosts a native population of coastal cutthroat trout and largemouth bass.

Mineral Lake features a public boat launch and docks alongside the shore. The layout gives anglers a chance to cast their lines anywhere, all while enjoying the breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountain Range.

EZ Times Horse Rides offers guided horseback tours through the hills of Elbe, four miles north of Mineral.

Alder Lake Park is less than seven miles west. The park is home to populations of black crappie, coastal cutthroat trout, kokanee, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white crappie, and yellow perch. Its shore and boat access allow fishers several methods of approach.

The Mineral Area is only 17 miles from the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. The mountain is known for its 263,000-acre wilderness and peak elevation of 14,411 feet, the highest in the state of Washington.

White Pass Ski Resort and Crystal Mountain are located within 90 miles of the Mineral area for snow-skiers who like to kick up fresh powder in the winter season. Each resort features slopes for experienced skiers and beginners alike.

Other Attractions

The Mineral Lake area is also home to Mineral School, an artistic residency built out of a repurposed elementary school. The non-profit seeks to unite artists from around the Pacific Northwest, and give them an outlet to create and share their work.
