Proximity to Richmond, Virginia


Lake Louisa is just over an hour’s drive from the cities of Richmond and Washington, Virginia. The Richmond International Airport, VA Hospital, Omni Richmond Hotel, shopping centers, and restaurants are conveniences found in Richmond, Virginia.

Washington also has a selection of traditional-style inns, hotels, and bed and breakfasts, and dining options. The City of Louisa has stores like Food Lion, CVS, Walgreens, or Advanced Auto Parts to meet your daily needs.


Center of Blue Ridge Shores


Lake Louisa is a human-made lake in the center of the community of Blue Ridge Shores in Louisa County. The lake has 5 miles of shoreline that are enjoyed by the residents.


Activities on the Lake


Visit one of the lake’s three beaches that offer something for the whole family, whether swimming, tanning, sitting under one of the provided umbrellas, or playing on the playground.

The Marina at Blue Ridge Shores is found on the main beach and has 38 boat slips, and there are an additional 15 boat slips found around the lake.

Lake Louisa residents enjoy the water on a variety of motorized boats, kayaks, paddleboats, Jon boats, and canoes. Along with boating, lake activities like water skiing, tubing, fishing, and swimming are popular. The lake has a plentiful stock of bass, carp, catfish, and perch.


Fun in the Community


The Community Center, an 1100 square foot facility with complete kitchens, commonly hosts community events like pancake breakfasts, spaghetti dinners, and family movie nights.

Residents can rent the Community Center for full access to the facility for a few hours or all day. Basketball and tennis courts located off of the main beach are places where the community members like to get active.

The community also has the Glen Nature and Brook N’ Dale walking trails that feature over 80 identified species of fauna as well as bridges and benches.
