As a retired coach and school administrator, with numerous relocations over my career, I am familiar with the challenges of finding the right home in the right place. I have spent the majority of my life in southeastern Oklahoma, and much of that time in the Lake Eufaula area.

I currently reside on the southern end of Lake Eufaula in the Elm Point area, and would be glad to show you around the lake, which covers multiple counties and has about 600 miles of total shoreline. The shoreline and terrain range as widely as the recreation and sports that accompany lake life in Oklahoma. In addition to touring desired homes from the "land side," I can give you another perspective. With advance notice and weather permitting, I have the capability to give you a tour of parts of the lake by boat, so you can get a feel for both the sandy beaches and the fishing hot spots.

I look forward to being your resource for the Lake Eufaula area; thanks in advance.

About Lake Eufaula

Short Trip from Tulsa and Oklahoma City

Located on the east side of Oklahoma and spanning Haskell, McIntosh, Pittsburg, and Okmulgee counties, Lake Eufaula is the largest in the state.

Eufaula is a flood pool for the Canadian, North Fork Canadian and Deep Fork rivers. The cities of Eufaula, Longtown, and Texanna are nestled along the lake.

Lake in the Making

Eufaula Dam was approved by congress in 1946 to provide flood control, hydroelectric power, water supply, navigation and recreation.

The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers construction ran from 1956-1964. Eufaula consumes 102,000 acres, 600 miles of shoreline with an average depth of 23 feet ranging from 12 to 87 feet.

At its completion, Lyndon B. Johnson came to Oklahoma on September 25, 1964 for the dedication.

Recreational Retreat

With two state parks along its shoreline recreational activities abound. Boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, hunting, golfing, horseback riding, swimming beaches, camping, kayaking, and more are offered.

Eufaula is a well-known tournament lake home to largemouth bass, Kentucky bass, crappie, catfish, sand bass, stripers, sunfish, channel catfish and blue catfish.

Renting a house boat for recreation and retreat is another unique opportunity one can take on the lake.

Annual Festivities

The City of Eufaula is home to the annual event Whole Hawg Days and Poker run. Guests can enjoy rodeo, mutton bustin', a parade, vendors, activities for kids and a hawg cook off.

At the Eufaula Powwow on Labor Day weekend Native Americans come together to share traditional songs, dancing, arts, crafts and food with the community. A variety of tournaments, swimming and camping are also part of this historical event.

Another annual treat is the Lake Eufaula Sailboat Bucket Run. Sailboat enthusiasts come together to enjoy camaraderie and racing.

A Little Bit of Everything

From the Native American history and design of the lake as a flood pool where 3 rivers merge to mutton bustin' at the hawg fest, Lake Eufaula has a little bit of everything. Having a resort, two state parks and numerous other camping gives the surrounding community something for everyone to do.

Whether you are looking for a family home or weekend retreat Lake Eufaula an excellent choice for everyone!
