About Lake Mackintosh

Between Greensboro and Raleigh

Lake Mackintosh is right in between both Greensboro and Raleigh. You can find it just under 10 miles outside of Burlington.

Plenty of room for Everyone

Developed in 1993, Lake Mackintosh has a shoreline of 61 miles, which are full of recreational activities. It also covers 1,150 acres.

Great Fishing and a Great Time

You can spend your time on the lake fishing, kayaking, or out on a row boat. Due to the fact that the lake is the main water supply for the city of Burlington, there is no swimming or personal watercrafts permitted. The Greater Alamance Creek and the Little Alamance Creek provide most of the fish to the lake, such as Largemouth Bass, Crappie, and Bluegill.

Hiking Trips, Kayaking, and Paddling

There are many scheduled events throughout the year at the lake, including a several mile long hike, clinics in which you can learn how to kayak safely, and days to head out and kayak with people from the community.

A Great Place for Quiet and Peaceful Evenings

Lake Mackintosh would be the perfect place to settle down or retire. It is an amazing choice for anyone considering lakefront property.
