Lake McConaughy is about a 20-minute drive from Arthur, Nebraska, and around an hour from North Platte.

The North Platte Regional Airport is 65.3 miles away, and the Ogallala Community Hospital is 13.6 miles away for convenient travel and medical care.

In recent years, Game and Parks officials have also stocked wipers, a cross between white bass and striped bass that provides excellent fishing action.

One popular attraction is Big Mac Parasailing, where visitors can strap on a chute and sail over the lake water.

Another popular attraction is the Bayside Golf Course, where visitors can grab a club and test their skills out on the green.
