Kris spent her early years in Denver, but was at Rainy Lake every summer to visit her grandparents. By her high school years, she decided that summers were best spent enjoying the sun and fun of Rainy Lake instead of the hustle and bustle of the big city. So she started extending her weeklong vacations to several months, hanging out at her grandparents' or aunt & uncles' place - living the dream.

After marrying Mike Lemieux and raising their family on the shores or Rainy, Kris and Mike have created strong ties to the community through an incredible group of friends and close business associates that are drawn to their kindness and community involvement. And as a business owner for many years, Kris understands what it takes to treat people the way they expect to be treated.

About Rainy Lake / Rainy River Area

Rainy Lake Real Estate is our specialty. For area lake homes, cabins and other waterfront properties near International Falls, please contact one of our local Realtors.

If you're heading to Northern Minnesota in your search for waterfront real estate, you may want to check out Rainy Lake and the Rainy River near International Falls. Together with Lake Kabetogama, Namakan Lake, Sandpoint Lake, Crane Lake and Ash River, they form the northernmost point in this area of the U.S., and offer an incredibly scenic waterway where you can travel hundreds of miles by boat in both the United States and Canada. The area is filled with thousands of islands, rock outcroppings and sand beaches, many of which are in Voyageurs National Park. Because of this vast expanse of public lands, just a short boat trip can land you on a remote pristine beach where you will have as much privacy and solitude as if it were your own island in the middle of nowhere.

Lake cabins, lake homes and vacant lakefront properties are quite plentiful on the west end of Rainy Lake with nearly 1,000 property owners on the water, but waterfront real estate further east on Rainy - and into the other lakes on the chain - is in somewhat short supply because of the park. However, there still are a few remote parcels that sometimes come available up the lake, and if you're willing to look at lakefront and other recreational property on the Canadian side, you will find much more to choose from in areas like Redgut Bay, the Seine River and the North Arm. Our waterfront specialists work closely with Canadian real estate agents, and they have the ability to find these types of properties even if they are not listed.

Many people say that these lakes are among the most gorgeous places on earth. There is an intrinsic peacefulness that exudes across the historic waters and forests. Finding your own private fishing hole or hidden island sanctuary is never a problem because of the vast uninhabited lands. These border lakes are the real thing, and from International Falls to Crane Lake the area hosts a hearty and friendly breed of people.

We've provided a link above to search the main multiple listing service for the Rainy Lake and Rainy River areas. But some of the properties here are not on MLS, and others may be in a different multiple listing service, so it is best to check with our local experts to help get a better idea of every available listing.
