Following a nonprofit career, Jesse entered the real estate world to return to his passions of marketing and helping people one-on-one.

With years of high-end hospitality experience from as far away as San Francisco, New Orleans and the Virgin Islands to small-farm advocacy at the state capitol, Jesse has worked with a diverse group of talented people. However, it's his work within rural Minnesota and the Grand Rapids community that has been the most rewarding.

A garlic farmer on a fourth-generation family farm in Trout Lake Township, Jesse has 10+ years experience working with off-grid power systems and sees tremendous potential for renewables at both full-time homes and vacation properties.

Jesse is actively involved in the Grand Rapids and Deer River Farmers' Markets and the Itasca Community Garden. An advocate for the arts in Greater Itasca County, Jesse is also principal violist for the Itasca Symphony Orchestra.

Having grown up in Colorado Springs, Jesse is frequently asked, "Why would he want to be up here?" He says, "There are so many reasons: the scenery, the fresh air, lots of open spaces - but more than anything it's the people and the sense of community. Plus, there are so many opportunities to get involved and make an impact... and that often doesn't happen in a big city where people are so disconnected from each other."

Whether listing your home or finding the perfect property, put Jesse's extensive customer service experience, strong community connections and Drake University advertising degree to work for you.

About Pokegama Lake - Grand Rapids

Located in a Sought-After Region

Pokegama Lake is a recreational sensation located just outside of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Residents will find everything they need and more in Grand Rapids: restaurants, stores, hotels, the Grand Itasca Hospital, Itasca County Airport, and more.

Duluth and Bemidji are popular tourist destinations just an hour from Grand Rapids.

Undiscovered Until the Mid-1800s

Until Minnesota became a booming logging location in the mid-1800s, this region of the state had been untouched. Part of the Mississippi River Chain, steamships carried logs in and out of Pokegama by 1868.

The high demand for supplies, clothing, and food led to a large, flourishing pioneer village that developed into the city of Grand Rapids we know today.

Room for Lake Activities

Pokegama is a go-to location for all things lake life. During the summer, boating, water skiing, fishing, sailing, and swimming are some of the most popular activities.

On its sandy beaches, people enjoy swimming, sunbathing, picnicking, and simply relaxing. While touring the lake, you can spot mallards, loons, lakeside deer, moose, elk, or eagles flying above.

Watersports are most often performed mid-lake while Sherry Arm, Wendigo Arm, and Sugar Bay are famous. Pokegama Lake is proud of its large-sized walleye but also holds a variety of other fish.

During winter, residents enjoy the frozen lake for ice fishing, ice skating, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing.

Around the Shore

There are several places for visitors to stay like Pokegama Lake Resort, Southwood Resort, Green Heron Bed & Breakfast, Crystal Springs RV Park, and Sugar Bay Campground Resort.

On the northeastern shore, the Pokegama Golf Course features an 18-hole championship course and the Pokegama Grill.

The nearby Chippewa National Forest has trails for hiking, mountain biking, nordic skiing, snowmobiling, and more. In the towering white pines, you are likely to spot a variety of birds.

The Best of Lake Living

Pokegama Lake is a fantastic place to live life on the water, with the shopping, dining, and entertainment offered in Grand Rapids is just minutes away.
