WATERFRONT VACATION HOMES FOR SALE ON POINT ABBAYE!! - The Point Abbaye Peninsula is a 12.3-mile-long peninsula that juts out into Lake Superior. This body of land is located in central Baraga County, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This boreal ecosystem is bounded by the Keweenaw Bay on the west and the Huron Bay on the east. Considered a very special place by the Ojibwa who fished, hunted, and camped here for generations, it remained mostly untouched until the late 1800s. Today the thickly wooded second-growth forests are managed for production of pulpwood, and the shoreline is dotted with fine private homes and cottages, and vacant land parcels. The northern end of the Peninsula has Copper Country State Forest lands and the County of Baraga has a beautiful park located at the rugged, rocky tip. You might be able to see The Huron Island Light flashing from the rocky freshwater archipelago located about seven miles beyond the end of the peninsula. These islands are named the Huron Islands in honor of the Hurons who once lived in the area - and are a national wildlife area. Each side of the Peninsula has its own special features -- There are stunning sunset views on the west side, clear-day views of the Keweenaw Peninsula to the north, and those views of the Huron Islands and Huron Mountains from the east side. Lake Superior fishing for salmon, whitefish and lake trout abounds on either side! Another local pass time here is nature photography, and you'll have opportunities for that here year round! Whitetail deer, Black bear, Coyote, and Bald eagle sightings are common. -- THE BEAR PAW and EAGLE VIEW are distinctive prow-fronted homes that have vaulted ceilings and large sliding glass doors. To make the most of the tall ceilings, sets of windows are placed directly above lake side sliding glass doors. The floor-to-ceiling window arrangement maximizes light and the views of the lake. Patio doors provide access to large raised wrap-a-round sundecks for outdoor dining and entertainment. The bright, open spaces are ideal for vacation living or for permanent homes. Both homes have an open concept Living Area that feature cultured stone gas fireplaces, which are surrounded by comfortable couches and have Satellite TVs with VCR/DVD combo players for evenings of relaxation. The Dining Areas are located to take advantage of the lake view and have seating for six diners. The Kitchens are separated from the room by a Breakfast Bar for casual seating. The kitchens are complete with light colored wood wall hung and base cabinets, ample counter space, and quality appliances. The Open Areas lead to the more private Sleeping Areas, where two large Bedrooms and a Full Bath are located. The Lower Levels have spacious Game Rooms, with Bar Area and 6-Person Hot Tubs. For additional pampering, there are electric Saunas located on this floor. Another large Bedroom, Full Bath, and Mechanical Room complete this level... Continued In Addendum
