Situated  on the Georgia – Alabama border in Harris County, Lake Harding covers  5,850 acres with more than 150 miles of shoreline. While considerably  smaller than many of the surrounding lakes, Lake Harding still offers  all of the amenities that one would expect. Only a short drive from  Columbus, Georgia and Opelika, Alabama, Lake Harding provides a quiet  waterfront getaway for those who are fortunate enough to visit.

Formed  by the Bartlett's Ferry Dam,which was originally built in 1926 by  Columbus Power Company and then sold in 1930 to Georgia Power, Lake  Harding sits on the Chattahoochee River and contains many islands,  including the famous Houston's Island where you can see the ruins of an  old lake house still standing. Considered a true gem, Lake Harding  draws visitors throughout the year looking to boat, ski, sail, fish,  and any number of other water-related activities. There is also a  significant portion of these visitors who end up buying a home of their  own on Lake Harding.

There are also  many campgrounds surrounding Lake Harding to satisfy those seeking both  an outdoor and a lake vacation. Blanton Creek Park is one of the more  famous areas along Lake Harding for campers to reside. Situated along  the central border of Georgia and Alabama, Lake Harding gives many  looking for a more secluded and laid back lake vacation a unique  option. Another great aspect of Lake Harding is that those in the  Atlanta, Georgia area only have about an hour and a half drive to this  wonderful lake.
