ATV riding in Aitkin County - Northwoods Regional ATVTrail
Aitkin County maintains over 100 miles of designated ATV trails for the summervoyagers, including the Soo Line trails, Rabey Line trail, the BlindLake ATV trail, RedtopLoop trail near McGrath, and the new Lawler Loop.
Trails may be closed at any time during the year without notice if the trailconditions dictate such. The notice will be put onto our web page as soon aspossible.
Aitkin County has established a 70 mile ATV trail known as theNorthwoods ATV trail. This trail incorporates both the North and South Soo Linetrails along with loops off of both. You can go from the North Soo Line southall the way to Blind Lake and north to Jacobson. These two new connector trailsare just opening this spring. The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners has passed a resolution designatingAitkin County Lands as a limited use for ATV's. That means that unless it isposted as open for ATVing, it is closed. Look for the open signs on our forestroads to see what is open and available to ride on. A map of these areas willbe available in the future, once all the signs are up.
