Amery, Wisconsin is a quaint community of about 3,000 residents just past the St. Croix Valley, and only about an hour and a half from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. It is a pretty town with lots of parks, and water bordering it on each side.
On the west are the three lakes of South Twin, North Twin and Pike Lake stacked along its in-town neighborhoods. And on the eastern edge of town the Apple River and its flowage borders the entire community. Therefore, it is quite easy to find waterfront real estate within the city limits, and many of the town's residents are fortunate enough to have a lake or river right out their door.
Just a few miles to the west is Lake Wapogasset at about 1,400 acres, and connected to Bear Trap Lake on the south. This water body is widely popular for great fishing and all recreational activities, and is highly sought after for its lakeshore real estate. The lake is very wooded and elevations range from quite steep to nearly flat lots, so it makes for a scenic backdrop to any lake home or cabin.
The chain of Big Lake, Wind Lake and Church Pine Lake is a bit further west yet, and closer to Osceola. Although these lakes aren't real large, they are quite clear, and are popular recreational bodies. There are several other decent sized lakes in the area, including Cedar Lake toward New Richmond. And the St. Croix River has a wide variety of properties ranging from those near the water's edge, to others high on bluffs.
