Specialty: Greater Bemidji and Beltrami County areas

Mona was born in Indiana and met her Minnesota-born husband in Wisconsin at a Salvation Army summer camp for inner-city Chicago children. After graduating from Bemidji State University in 1982, they moved to Arizona where Darrell worked as a CPA while she taught school. Then they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Darrell completed law school and then moved back to Phoenix for two years. When their first child was born, they decided they wanted him to experience growing up and living in beautiful Minnesota. Mona taught elementary school for six years and has owned and operated a day care center when her children were young. She has served on the Bemidji School Board, the Minnesota Mental Health Advisory Council and the Minnesota Academic Standards Committee. She and her husband have been married 29 years and have six children and a few furry friends.

Mona has been a Bemidji resident since 1991 and has bought and sold several personal properties over the years as their family has grown. She and her husband, Darrell, have managed their own rental properties for over 20 years. During her first three years of business, Mona saved sellers over $140,000 in real estate commissions and in her third year as an agent sold over $4 million in properties in the greater Bemidji area. She received her broker's license in 2005 and has operated her own brokerage and brokered one other agency before joining Lakehomes.com.

Having been a purchaser herself several times before becoming an agent, along with her experience as an educator, Mona has a unique perspective while helping her clients understand the sometimes confusing process of buying and selling properties. She makes sure her clients understand everything they need to know to make the BEST decisions in purchasing or selling a home.

Mona invites you to stop in during your visit to Bemidji for an informal tour of the city and to get to know the area attractions. Bemidji, the First City on the Mississippi, in the heart of Minnesota's north woods, is rich in beautiful scenery, abundant recreation, inspiring arts and culture.

The Mississippi headwaters, located in Itasca State Park, begins its 2,552 mile journey as an infant stream flowing north through pristine wilderness and winding its way through Lake Bemidji before turning south to the Gulf of Mexico. The elusive Walleye and mighty Muskie lurk in many of the Bemidji area's 400 fishing lakes. The 110 mile Paul Bunyan State Trail, with its northern trailhead in Lake Bemidji State Park, is one of a network of area trails that provide hundreds of miles of enjoyment for bicycling, skiing and snowmobiling. Mona can tell you first hand Bemidji is a great place to call home!
